Laura Bowers

Laura Bowers is a dedicated professional in the field of cancer control and nutrition, currently serving as a Board Member for the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation and as an Advocate in Science for Susan G. Komen. From November 2022 to the present, Laura has also contributed as a Young Advocate for Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Prior experience includes a tenure as Assistant Professor at Purdue University from August 2018 to September 2022. Academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin, where Laura also completed a Registered Dietitian program, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Swarthmore College. Laura’s research and advocacy work are rooted in a strong educational foundation, highlighted by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill focused on Cancer Control Education.
