Brian Barela

Brian Barela has extensive work experience in various roles related to artificial intelligence, automation, and data management. Brian currently holds the position of Lead Product Manager at SustainaBase. Prior to this, they worked as an Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Process Automation Consultant at Johnson & Johnson.

From 2021 to 2023, Brian served as a Senior Agile Project Manager at Intelygenz, where they led cross-functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions. Brian also developed business intelligence dashboards and executive reporting to monitor the success of AI solutions.

Before that, Brian worked as a Senior Global Project Manager at Johnson Controls, managing technical programs and initiatives involving AI, automation, and data. Brian delivered net new business intelligence and AI-generated predictive analytics that transformed strategic planning and performance management.

From 2019 to 2021, Brian held the role of Senior Agile Transformation Manager at Cognizant Softvision, leading the development and deployment of server-side UiPath BOTs and overseeing a portfolio of Intelligent Process Automation projects.

Earlier in their career, Brian worked as a Global IT Program Manager at Levatas, where they managed a digital transformation program and led delivery teams for clients. Brian also served as an Agile Product Owner and Customer Experience Strategy Consultant at Levatas.

Brian's work experience also includes roles at Cru Global, where they served as Digital Marketing Director, Field Office Director for Mission Advancement & Fundraising, and Digital Communications Conference Director. Brian was responsible for driving brand awareness, optimizing CRM applications, and developing strategic programmatic direction.

Brian started their career at Cru Global as a Field Staff Member, where they managed fundraising activities and cultivated relationships with donors.

Throughout their career, Brian has demonstrated strong leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills, with a focus on leveraging AI, automation, and data to drive business outcomes.

Brian Barela attended UCLA from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Ancient Greek. In addition to their formal education, Brian has obtained various certifications throughout their career. These certifications include Professional Scrum Master 1 and Professional Scrum Product Owner I from Scrum.org, obtained in November 2021. Brian also holds certifications such as Cool Headed, Level 2 and Diplomat, Level 2 from Dale Carnegie Digital, obtained in December 2016. Brian is an Inbound Marketing Certified Professional from Hubspot, obtained in May 2013. Brian has also obtained certifications like Cloud Analytics Practitioner from Cloud Analytics Academy in April 2019 and SAFe 4 Certified Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc. in April 2018. Additionally, Brian has completed courses such as Design Kit: Prototyping from NovoEd in October 2015, and Design Kit: The Course for Human-Centered Design from NovoEd in October 2014.
