As Sutter Health’s Chief Operating Officer, Mark Sevco, who will join the organization on June 5, will have broad responsibility for the operations of Sutter’s 23 hospitals, five regional medical foundations, systemwide service lines, home health and hospice services, nursing, ambulatory surgery centers and other diversified business.
Most recently, Sevco was the executive vice president of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), a multi-state health system with several international facilities and operations, where he spent the last 30 years in various senior leadership positions operating the system’s hospital and ambulatory services. In addition, Sevco is the past executive director of the UPMC Administrative Fellowship Program, an executive training program for UPMC which he led for more than 10 years.
Sevco holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, an MBA, and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor for the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh.
