Robert Hails

Robert (Bob) Hails is a seasoned executive in the behavioral health sector with extensive experience in mental health and addiction care operations. Currently, Robert serves as the Senior Director of Mental Health & Addiction Care Operations at Sutter Health, overseeing acute hospital-based services and supporting emergency departments and medical centers statewide. In addition to their role at Sutter Health since April 2020, Robert owns Robert Hails Consulting, where Robert (Bob) addresses operational challenges and business development for various companies. Formerly, Robert held CEO positions at American Addiction Centers, effectively turning around services in Southern California, and served as Regional Vice President of Operations at Signature Healthcare Services LLC, alongside leadership roles at HCA Healthcare, Psychiatric Solutions, Inc., and Lutheran Health Network. Robert holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from San Diego State University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from UC Santa Barbara.
