Petri Lehtovirta

Petri Lehtovirta has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Petri is currently serving as the VP of Products at Suunto since November 2022. Previously, they held the position of Head of technology and platform at Suunto from April 2021 to February 2023.

Before joining Suunto, Petri worked at Amer Sports Corporation from 2016 to 2021. During their time there, they served as the Director of Consumer Software, responsible for embedded software development, mobile apps, and cloud assets engineering efforts. Petri also worked as a Program Manager for Connected Devices, managing the scope, schedule, and quality of Suunto watches' software in various environments.

Prior to their tenure at Amer Sports Corporation, Petri was employed at Microsoft from 2013 to 2016. Petri held the role of Director, Software Program & Experience Management, overseeing the software operations for Microsoft Phones. Petri also worked as a Release SW Program Manager, responsible for creating software assets for products consisting of Windows OS, chipset software, and drivers.

Petri started their career at Nokia in 1999, where they held several positions over the years. Petri worked as an SW release product manager, focusing on Microsoft Windows Phone OS and software planning for Nokia phones. Petri also served as the Head of a device family product management for MeeGo Devices, leading the planning and software value proposition definition for Nokia smartphones. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Product Manager and Business Development Manager, among other roles, during their time at Nokia.

Before joining Nokia, Petri worked as a thesis worker at LK-Products in 1998.

Petri Lehtovirta obtained their MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oulu, where they studied from 1993 to 1999.
