Rostyslav Shymkiv

Rostyslav Shymkiv is an experienced security analyst who has worked in various roles in the field. From 2018 to present, they worked at UnderDefense Cyber Security, starting as a Security Operations Center Analyst and later progressing to the role of Security Engineer. In these positions, they were responsible for configuring monitoring systems for web servers, workstations, and network devices, using technologies such as Splunk, Windows/Unix, IIS, Checkpoint, and AWS. Rostyslav also worked as a SOC Analyst, providing security operations support.

More recently, in 2020, they joined Svitla Systems, Inc. as a Senior Security Analyst. In this role, they focused on threat hunting, using data analysis, threat intelligence, and cutting-edge security technologies to develop and execute hunting processes that identify and respond to threats quickly.

Rostyslav Shymkiv obtained their Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity from Lviv Polytechnic National University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Rostyslav also holds multiple certifications from Splunk, including the Splunk Core Certified Power User, Splunk Core Certified User, Splunk 7.x Fundamentals Part 1, Splunk Infrastructure Overview, and Splunk User Behavior Analytics. These certifications were obtained in 2019, with the specific months ranging from July to December.
