Leon Morales has a wealth of experience in the scientific field, beginning with a Research Technician position at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in 2010. Leon then moved to Hunter College in 2008 as a Research Associate, where they worked on investigating how vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) exerts its neuro-protective effects against stress. In 2011, they became a Teacher at First Academy - Best Coaching for IELTS | GRE. In 2014, they began their postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and also served as a PhD Candidate in the lab of Dr. Stedman and co-mentored by Dr. Bennett. In 2016, they became a Founding Board Member of the University of Pennsylvania SACNCAS and also served as a Mentor and Journal Club Leader, responsible for assigning a set of primary peer-reviewed scientific articles while leading the discussion of a class of 10+ students. Leon also served as a Teacher Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2019, they began working as a Scientific Consultant- Team Member at PBG Healthcare Consulting and currently works as a Scientist at SwanBio Therapeutics.
Leon Morales received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Hunter College in 2011, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Gene Therapy and Vaccines Graduate Program from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2020.
