Kayleigh Rust

Kayleigh Rust has a diverse work experience in the environmental and natural resources field. Kayleigh started their career as an Energy Resources Intern at the Texas General Land Office, where they updated lease agreements and conducted mining research. After that, they worked as a Natural Resources Specialist/Project Manager at the same company, managing coastal restoration projects and coordinating with state and federal agencies for permits.

Kayleigh then joined Atkins as an Environmental Planner, where they worked on various projects such as FEMA coastal floodplain study analysis, EIS document preparation, and industrial permit preparation. Kayleigh later became a Senior Environmental Planner at Atkins, focusing on transportation projects and conducting extensive GIS analysis.

Currently, Kayleigh is working as an Environmental Scientist at SWCA Environmental Consultants. Their responsibilities include environmental analysis, permitting, and reporting for oil and gas and transmission industries. Kayleigh has also worked on habitat equivalency analysis modeling for the Greater Sage-grouse and noise monitoring and impact analysis from mining activities.

Throughout their career, Kayleigh has gained certifications in Traffic Noise Model and US Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation. Kayleigh has demonstrated expertise in environmental impact assessment, project management, spatial analysis, and regulatory compliance.

Kayleigh Rust's education history includes attending California State University, Chico from 2004 to 2008. During this time, they studied Environmental Economics. In 2006, Kayleigh also attended Copenhagen Business School for a brief period to study Business Management. Kayleigh then went on to pursue further education at The University of Texas at Austin from 2008 to 2010. Here, they focused on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Additionally, Kayleigh obtained a certification called TNM 2.5 from FHWA in November 2012.
