John Cleave

John Cleave is the Application Development Team Lead at SweetRush Inc. John has over 20 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining innovative e-learning, performance support, and online assessment solutions. John has worked with a wide variety of clients, including IBM, HSBC, Autodesk, Univ. of Chicago, Tennant, Intuit, Oracle, and Keybank. In their previous role as Director of Learning Design at Experience Builders LLC, they collaborated with subject matter experts and training professionals to devise instructional strategy, create competency and proficiency models, develop pilots, and deploy asynchronous eLearning, train the trainer, blended, and virtual instructor-led solutions. John also designed and analyzed assessments to measure training outcomes against business needs in conjunction with psychologists and statisticians. In addition, they managed localization and global rollouts, developed usability, compatibility, and functional testing protocols, and crafted timelines and budgets. John has also established templates, libraries, and standards. John is a mentor to junior teammates.

John Cleave graduated from MacArthur High School and then Northwestern University with a BS in English. John continued their education at Northwestern, earning an MS in Education. Finally, they completed their PhD in Computer Science at Northwestern.
