Chao-Ling Hung, PhD, has a diverse work experience in data science and research. Chao-Ling is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Swell Energy since February 2023. Prior to that, they were a Data Scientist at Kevala, Inc. from September 2021 to February 2023. From August 2018 to August 2021, they served as a Data Science Consultant. Chao-Ling has also worked as a Contract Research Scientist and a Research Scientist at LearnPlatform from April 2019 to July 2021.

Before transitioning into data science, Chao-Ling held academic roles at Manhattan College, where they worked as an Assistant Professor from August 2017 to July 2018. Chao-Ling also served as a Harlan J. Smith Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin from August 2015 to August 2017, during which they developed software tools for analyzing three-dimensional point data from galaxy simulations. Prior to that, they were an SAO Predoctoral Fellow at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics from January 2014 to July 2015.

Chao-Ling Hung, PhD, earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from National Tsing Hua University in 2008. Chao-Ling continued their education at the same institution, completing a Master's degree in Astronomy from 2008 to 2010. Hung further pursued their academic career at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Astronomy from 2010 to 2015.
