Mark MacTavish

Mark MacTavish has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Mark started their career at Accenture as a Functional Analyst, where they assessed work requests, analyzed business and user requirements, and developed solution proposals. Mark also programmed and tested in COBOL, C, Unix Shell scripting, Windows SDK, Visual Basic, SQL, and PL/SQL.

Mark then worked at PQA as an Automated Tester and Senior Tester, where they wrote manual and automated test scripts for clients in the financial services, gaming, and healthcare industries. Mark also led a team of testers on a software development project.

Afterwards, Mark joined Accreon Inc. as a Lead Business Analyst, where they worked on behalf of physicians to leverage information technology. Mark conducted conformance and functional testing with stakeholders using Hospital Report Manager (HRM) and integrated and managed drug order messages using Orion Rhapsody Integration Engine. Mark later became a Rhapsody Developer/Analyst and an HL7 Orion Rhapsody Developer, specializing in EHR systems for long-term healthcare providers. Mark also worked as a Business Analyst and Gen Developer on a mental and public healthcare system.

Mark then joined Siemens, where they held various roles. Mark served as a Supervisor for the Quality Engineering team, leading a team of seven Quality Assurance Specialists and coordinating with global resources. Mark was also a Scrum Master for multiple scrum teams, leading daily standup meetings and sprint planning meetings. Additionally, they worked as a Product Owner, leading the Distributed Energy Applications team and communicating with clients and stakeholders.

Most recently, Mark joined Swell Energy as a Product Owner, although no specific details are provided about their responsibilities in this role.

Mark MacTavish completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick from 1997 to 2002. In addition to their academic achievements, they have also obtained several certifications. Mark became a Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner in December 2021 through Scaled Agile, Inc. Mark received their Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager certification from the same institution in August 2021. Mark also holds a Scrum Master certification granted by the Scrum Alliance in May 2018.
