Lukas von Orelli is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in various philanthropic and educational roles. Currently serving as Director at Velux Stiftung since May 2004, Lukas has spearheaded initiatives focusing on the impact of daylight on health, healthy aging, and ophthalmology. As a member of the board at SwissFoundations and with a presidency from 2016 to 2023, Lukas has contributed significantly to Swiss grant-making foundations. Additional roles include being a board member of Peter Bopp Stiftung für Forschung und Technik and serving on several advisory boards, including the Universität Basel Center for Philanthropy Studies. Lukas has also held teaching positions at Universität Zürich and Universität Basel, specializing in foundation law and business planning. Education includes a Dr. iur. from the University of Zurich, alongside licentiate degrees in Jurisprudence and Economics from the University of Basel, and a coaching certification from Kurszentrum Aarau.
