Oliver Haubensak

Oliver Haubensak began their work experience in 2007 as a Marine Seismic Observer at Fugro-Geoteam AS. Oliver operated seismic recording instruments, ensured data quality, and maintained the equipment. Oliver then worked as a Marine Seismic Observer at Fugro Marine Services B.V. from 2009 to 2009, where they performed similar tasks.

In 2012, Haubensak joined Swissgrid AG as a Support Market Coupling and Processes Specialist. Oliver focused on European energy markets, introduced compliance systems, and conducted investigations into market misconduct. Oliver later served as a Specialist Capacity Allocation & Scheduling from October 2013 to December 2013, and as a Specialist Market Design from January 2014 to June 2016.

During these roles, they contributed to the redesign of the Swiss Balance Group Management, revised processes in balance group and schedule management, and acted as a Single Point of Contact for market participants.

From July 2016 to March 2017, Haubensak worked as a Coordinator of the Market Design Concept Team at Swissgrid AG. Oliver then became the Head of Operational Planning in April 2017. In this role, they led a team responsible for planning outages, maintaining contingency constraints, and determining cross-border capacities. Oliver also initiated and managed a program to digitize and automate processes across the organization, which is expected to last until 2030 and consists of 25 projects.

Oliver Haubensak obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in 2006. Oliver then pursued an exchange year at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2006-2007, focusing on Power Engineering. In 2010, they enrolled in the Master of Management, Technology and Economics program at ETH Zürich, completing their studies in 2012. Additionally, they participated in a Spanish Program at Universidad EAFIT in 2010. There is no available information on their education after completing their Master's degree.
