Chris Parker has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies. Chris is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Switchboard since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Bakpax from June 2018 to September 2021, where they served as a Staff Software Engineer and played an instrumental role in building the platform from scratch. Chris worked closely with the CTO to define and implement product and technical direction.

Before Bakpax, Chris worked at SmartThings as a Senior Software Engineer from October 2017 to June 2018. Prior to that, they had an extensive tenure at Code 42 Software, Inc. from December 2012 to October 2017. During their time at Code 42, they held the roles of Staff Software Engineer, Architect, and Team Lead. Chris acted as an architect for a large-scale server-side application and oversaw the transition from a monolithic to a microservices architecture. Chris worked closely with product and engineering teams to address scaling concerns for the system serving over 2 million users.

Chris started their career at IBM, where they held various roles. From June 2007 to November 2012, they served as a Software Engineer, leading development and design for product sections that communicated with different hardware types. Chris also developed tools for development, testing, and error detection used by employees across the company. During this time, they collaborated with global teams to gather feedback and drive architectural changes.

Before joining IBM as a full-time employee, Chris had internships at IBM in 2006 and at BIO-key International in 2004.

Chris Parker attended the University of Minnesota from 2004 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science.
