Vlad-Cosmin Icatoiu has a diverse work experience in the field of DevOps and software development. Vlad-Cosmin started their career as a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon in 2017, where they worked on a scalable framework for generating noise in a virtualized environment. In 2018, they interned at Google as a Site Reliability Engineer, where they implemented a fault-tolerant restore management server for Google's centralized group membership storage system.
Following their internship with Google, Vlad-Cosmin served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest from 2017 to 2019.
In 2019, Vlad-Cosmin held two more internships, first at Adobe as a Site Reliability Engineer, where they implemented a self-healing infrastructure for Cassandra nodes in the AWS Cloud. Later that year, they interned at Google again, this time working on instrumenting a user-facing frontend with real-time metrics and implementing sensitive and precise alerting.
Most recently, Vlad-Cosmin has worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Hootsuite from December 2019 to January 2023. Vlad-Cosmin contributed as an Intermediate DevOps Software Engineer and eventually transitioned to the role of Senior Software Developer, DevOps.
In 2023, Vlad-Cosmin joined Carbon and Swrve (a MessageGears company) as a Senior DevOps Engineer, where they are currently employed.
Vlad-Cosmin Icatoiu attended the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest from 2015 to 2019, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science.
