Charlie Wood, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Their most recent role is as the Vice President of Innovation, Research & Development at SyBridge Technologies, where they are responsible for strategic project execution, intellectual property portfolio management, and technology development. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Research & Development, leading the corporate research and development efforts for all SyBridge Technologies companies.

Before joining SyBridge Technologies, Charlie was the Senior Director of Research & Development at Fast Radius, where they focused on advancing the Manufacturing Intelligence strategy through applied research and advanced projects. Charlie also served as the Director of Engineering, overseeing new product development and new product introduction processes. Additionally, they were the Manager of Computational Engineering, where they advanced the usage and capabilities of digital models across the Application Engineering team.

Charlie began their career at Motorola, where they worked as a Staff Hardware Engineer. Here, they led the front-end design and development for hardware programs and was involved in various simulation and testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.

Charlie's educational background includes serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Research Associate at Northwestern University.

Throughout their career, Charlie has demonstrated expertise in a range of technology topics, including machine learning, statistics, digital twin models, finite element simulations, computational geometry, and computer-aided manufacturing. Charlie has also worked with software tools and programming languages such as Abaqus, Grasshopper, Python, TCL, Matlab, and Latex.

Charlie Wood, PhD has an extensive education history in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Charlie received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Union College, graduating in 2008. Following their undergraduate studies, Charlie pursued a higher level of education and earned their Doctorate (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2013. In the same year, they also obtained a Certificate in Management for Scientists and Engineers from Northwestern University to further enhance their skills and knowledge in the field.

In addition to their academic achievements, Charlie has actively pursued professional certifications to enhance their expertise. In 2017, they obtained the Design for Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company). Charlie further expanded their knowledge by achieving the Design for Six Sigma Black Belt certification in 2018 from the same institution. Additionally, Charlie obtained a certification in Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in December 2018. These certifications showcase their dedication to continuous learning and professional development in their chosen field.
