Julia Hand

SVP, Data Products & Ratings at Sylvera

Julia Hand is the Vice President of Ratings at Sylvera. Julia has over fifteen years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on upstream oil and gas consulting, investment banking, and negative emissions technologies.

Julia began their career as an intern in the Structured Equity Products group at Bear Stearns. After Bear Stearns, they worked as an analyst in the Global Commodities Principal Investments group at J.P. Morgan. In 2010, they joined PFC Energy as a Senior Upstream Oil & Gas Consultant.

In 2013, Julia joined IHS Markit as the Product Manager for Negative Emissions Technologies & Nature-Based Solutions. Julia was responsible for product strategy, development, and commercialization of IHS Markit’s carbon capture & storage (CCS) and reforestation products.

Julia has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Julia Hand studied civil and environmental engineering and applied mathematics at Northwestern University, where they earned a B.S. degree.

Julia Hand reports to Allister Furey, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Stuart Johnson - VP of Sales, Patrick Fitzgerald - VP, Commercial Development, and Kelli Hogan - VP of Marketing. Some direct reports include Annalise Downey - Ratings Framework Lead, Bilal Hussain - Quantitative Associate, Ratings, and Veljko Marić - Research Assistant, Ratings.
