Sini Somakumar

Sini Somakumar has extensive work experience in engineering and technology consulting. They currently hold the role of Director of Engineering at Symbl.ai since 2023. Prior to this, from 2021 to 2023, they worked as the Principal Partner at Isotope Consulting Ltd., where they successfully executed projects such as reducing tech running costs and designing and winning an engineering project.

From 2019 to 2021, Sini held the position of Vice President of Engineering at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where they played a vital role in driving initiatives during the firm-wide cloud adoption phase and managing the transformation of highly scalable solutions. Before that, from 2007 to 2018, they also served as Vice President of Engineering at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where they managed global stakeholders and led a team to transform a legacy data platform and implemented cost and time-saving measures.

Sini also worked as the India Head for Equity Middle Office Technology Team at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2013 to 2016, where they oversaw the delivery of business critical platforms and played a key role in transforming the organization. Additionally, they held roles such as Engineering Lead and Associate at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2010 to 2013 and 2007 to 2010, respectively.

Sini started their career as a Senior Applications Developer at Tata Technologies from 2001 to 2005.

Sini Somakumar completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Strategy and Finance from the University of Strathclyde in 2006. Prior to that, between 2000 and 2001, they obtained a Diploma In Advanced Computing from the Advanced Computing Training School, focusing on Computer Science. In 1996, Sini earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathiar University.

In addition to their formal education, Sini Somakumar has obtained several certifications. These include "Kubernetes for the Absolute Beginners - Hands-on" from Udemy in March 2023, "TensorFlow: Neural Networks and Working with Tables" from LinkedIn in February 2023, and "TensorFlow: Working with NLP" from LinkedIn in February 2023.
