Vasiliy Buharin

Vasiliy (Vas) Buharin, PhD, serves as the Director of Innovation at Activ Surgical since April 2018, contributing to advancements in surgery through novel sensing, AI, and robotics. Prior to this role, Vas held various positions at Boston Scientific from March 2014 to March 2018, including Engineer, Sr Advanced Concepts, where responsibility included leading features for LUMIPOINT. Vas's academic background features a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, both from the Georgia Institute of Technology, complemented by experience as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant during studies. Additional internships at the National Science Foundation and NASA provided early professional exposure.
