Hernan Fonseca

Hernan Fonseca, CBC has a diverse and extensive work experience in the financial industry. Hernan is currently working as a Regional Vice President at Symetra, responsible for the Independent channel in the State of Florida. With a background as a former Financial Advisor and Certified Business Coach, Hernan focuses on assisting Financial Professionals in improving and growing their practice.

Prior to their current role, Hernan worked at Nationwide Financial for over two decades in various leadership positions. Hernan served as a Vice President - National Sales Manager Financial Institutions, overseeing wholesaling strategy and distribution for annuities through banks, wires, and regional firms. Hernan also held the position of Divisional Vice President, managing a team of wholesalers in the west coast and significantly increasing productivity.

Before joining Nationwide Financial, Hernan worked as an Assistant Vice President / Senior Financial Advisor at Ohio Savings Securities, Inc. Hernan also gained experience as an Investment Consultant at Citi and Merrill Lynch.

Hernan Fonseca, CBC, holds a BA in International Relations from Boston University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Hernan later pursued an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, completing it from 1997 to 1999. Hernan also participated in various executive education programs: BISA CEO Retreat at Wharton Executive Education in 2019, Disruptive Strategy at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2017, and Financial Consumer Services as well as Negotiation and Competitive Decision Making at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2007 and 2004, respectively. In terms of certifications, they are a Certified Business Coach (CBC) from the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches since 2011 and holds a Certified Financial Manager (CFM) certification from Merrill Lynch & College of Financial Planning since 1996. Hernan also has obtained honorable discharge from the United States Naval Reserve and holds professional licenses for Series 26, 63, and 7 from FINRA.
