Nathan Thomas

Nathan Thomas has a diverse work experience. Nathan is currently a co-founder of the Software and Automation Division (SynchroSoft) at SynchroGrid, a role they started in January 2019. In the same year, they also founded SynchroSoft LLC, where they develop innovative software solutions for protecting the electrical power grid using algorithms and machine learning.

Prior to their current roles, Nathan worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2018. Nathan was also a Research Assistant at the same department from 2002 to 2011, where they worked on the development of the STAPL project.

In 2002, Nathan interned at IBM's TJ Watson Research Center, where they worked on the K42 operating system project and conducted research on OS policy decisions. Nathan also interned at Compaq Computer Corporation in 1999, where they conducted performance modeling for decision support systems.

Additionally, Nathan has experience as a Graduate Assistant at Texas A&M University's Supercomputing Facility from 2001 to 2002 and as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 1999 to 2000.

Prior to their career in computer science, Nathan worked as a Director and Database Developer at Patrick Thomas Properties, Inc. from 1994 to 2001. Nathan also interned at the same company in 1994, where they performed property surveys and generated data for the marketing plan.

Nathan's work experience spans various roles in academia, research, software development, and property management.

Nathan Thomas completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University in 1999. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the same university and successfully completed it in 2012.
