Susan Akers-Smith

Susan Akers-Smith currently serves as the Executive Vice President & General Manager of Clinical Pharmacology & Bioanalysis at Syneos Health since December 2017, leading a global team focused on clinical pharmacology and early phase clinical trial delivery. Previous roles at Syneos Health include Senior Vice President positions in Medical and Scientific Management and Global Operations Management, where Susan managed operational efficiency and compliance within the medical and scientific strategy. Prior experience includes over 13 years at INC Research, culminating as Senior Vice President for Global Oncology & Hematology, where oversight of multiple specialty teams and operational performance was key. Additionally, Susan held various project management roles at CATO Research, United States Army Reserve, and multiple medical facilities. Educational qualifications include an Executive MBA from Gardner-Webb University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of West Georgia.
