Anna M. Ginn is a Senior Advisor at Synergos, a global nonprofit organization that brings people together to solve complex problems of poverty. Synergos works on issues such as health and nutrition, agriculture, education, and employment – creating opportunities for individuals and communities to thrive. Synergos creates, promotes, and sustains collaborations among business, government, civil society, and marginalized communities around the world. It fosters successful collaborations by building trust, designing and implementing change processes, and enhancing the effectiveness of bridging leaders and institutions.
From 2006 though 2017, Anna oversaw the philanthropy practice, including the Global Philanthropists Circle, a dynamic network of leading international philanthropists from 33 countries. The Global Philanthropists Circle inspires and connects philanthropists to enable them to be more strategic and effective.
Prior to joining Synergos in late 2006, Anna served as Vice President for Development and Communications at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) with responsibility for marketing and for annual fundraising of over $55 million. LISC invests over one billion dollars annually in low-income communities and is the largest national organization supporting community-based development. Anna was the Senior Development Officer for Coastal Enterprises, Inc., a 25-year-old community development corporation/community development financial institution headquartered in Maine. She also served as Executive Vice President of CEI Capital Management Inc., helping create and manage CEI’s New Markets Tax Credit program. While at CEI, Anna helped found two venture capital funds to invest in socially responsible businesses.
From 1984 to 1995, she was Publisher of Maine Times, Maine’s only issues-oriented statewide newsweekly. She received her MA from the University of Minnesota and BA from Mount Holyoke College.
