Mauro Zappaterra, MD, PhD has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Mauro served as the Director of Multidisciplinary Care at Synovation Medical Group, where they oversaw comprehensive treatments for chronic pain. Mauro also held the position of PM&R Physician and Lecturer at the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare System. In addition, they served as an Advisory Board Member at Torii Labs. Furthermore, Dr. Zappaterra worked as a Polarity Therapy Instructor at Hands on Healing Institute. Mauro is also the CEO, President, and Co-Founder of Positive Matters, Inc, a service charity and educational organization that helps individuals with traumatic brain injuries and disabilities. Mauro Zappaterra, MD, PhD completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles from 1993 to 1998. Mauro then pursued their medical education at Harvard Medical School, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) and PhD degrees in Medicine from 2001 to 2010. Additionally, they completed a Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the UCLA - VA West Los Angeles Healthcare System, and an Internship in Internal Medicine at UC Irvine.
