Cloud Engineer – BIG DATA

Full Job Description

Syntasa is seeking a high-caliber, dedicated, and proven Cloud Engineer – Big Data for its newly created subsidiary in India called Syntasa Technologies India Private Limited. The successful candidate will be able to help design, build, deploy and automate cutting edge data platform to be running on multi cloud environments. The candidate will be a hands-on engineer with the ability to understand various native services of cloud (AWS, Google, Azure) for implementing big data pipelines. Having good devops experience and infrastructure automation experience will be added bonus.

Five years ago, Syntasa formed Syntasa UK Limited to serve its European customers; now, India operations expand Synatsa’s reach in the APAC region. The India operations of Syntasa will primarily serve as an extension of it US software development and support functions. This position is an exciting opportunity to participate in the growth of its world-class development and support center. 

Required Qualifications:

• Strong programming skills in any of Java/Scala/Python

• Strong understanding of Data Engineering and Big Data Systems like Spark, Hive, Hadoop

• Strong understanding of Big data services at least with single cloud provider. (AWS or Google or Azure)

• Strong experience working with Docker Container and Kubernetes Orchestration.

• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to diagnose and fix a myriad of cloud issues such as networking and connectivity issues.

• Cloud-based certifications (AWS/Google/Azure) desirable or willing to obtain.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent

• 5+ years of demonstrable experience

• Worked with cloud automation tools like CloudFormation/Terraform

• Experience working with different Cloud SDKs for building infrastructure as code.

• Experience working with CICD pipelines preferably using Jenkins.

• Experience building Spring boot-based rest service applications.

• Ability to introduce new Cloud Services into an existing infrastructure stack.

• Developed automated security and compliance capabilities in support of DevOps processes in a large-scale AWS/Google cloud computing environment.
