Georgios Gousias

Georgios Gousias has extensive work experience in project engineering and management roles. Georgios has served as Head of Engineering and Maintenance at Synthomer since 2022, where they oversee the annual budgets for capital expenditures and maintenance operating expenses. Prior to that, they worked at Cytiva and GE Healthcare as Manager of Project Engineering, managing project teams for medium- and large-scale projects and coordinating future investments. Georgios also has experience as a Project Manager at Lenzing Group, overseeing CapEx projects, and as a Project NDT Engineer at FACC Operations GmbH, working on international cooperation projects. Georgios started their career as a Chemical Analyst at the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) and has interned at DESFA SA, Hellenic Petroleum, and HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group of Companies.

Georgios Gousias has a diverse education history. Georgios obtained a Master of Science degree in Management in Polymer Technologies from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz in 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business at Athens University of Economics and Business in 2010. Georgios also holds a Certification of Master's degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Patras, which they obtained in 2009. Georgios began their academic journey at the University of Patras, where they received a Diploma in Chemical Engineering in 2009. Georgios' education started with their attendance at the Evangelical School of Smyrna, where they completed their General Gymnasium & Lyceum education. In addition to their formal education, Georgios has obtained several certifications, including Certified Project Manager, MS Project, and NDT UT Level 2. Georgios also participated in the "Global Management Challenge" Management simulation and received a certification of knowledge of Computer from the University of Patras.
