William B. Norton is the Co-Founder & Chief Technical Liaison at Syntropy. William has over 20 years of experience in the field of internet peering and cloud network performance measurement. William is a well-known expert in the field, having published 3 white papers and delivered a dozen webinars on the topic. William has several patents pending on Internet routing and optimized path selection.

Prior to joining Syntropy, Norton was the Chief Scientist at Console Connect Inc., where they led strategic research initiatives surrounding cloud network performance measurement. William also served as an Internet Peering Expert for the European Commission advisory group that reviewed and advised on the ETICS project (defining quality of service measures for interconnected European Internet Networks.)

Norton is a seasoned entrepreneur, having founded DrPeering in 1998 and serving as its CEO until 2008. William then went on to co-found Equinix, where they served as the Chief Technical Liaison until 2015.

William B. Norton received their Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business with a focus in entrepreneurship/entrepreneurial studies. Prior to that, they obtained their BA in computer science from the State University of New York College at Potsdam.

William B. Norton reports to Dom Povilauskas, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Kevin Gavin - Chief Marketing Officer, Jeff Lacouture - Chief Revenue Officer, and Jonas Simanavicius - Co-Founder & CTO.
