Shannon Wellens has held a variety of roles over the past decade. In 2010, they began their career as an Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives. The following year, they were a Study Abroad Advisor for Virginia Tech. From 2012 to 2016, they held various roles at the Air Force Association, including Senior Manager of Field Operations, Field Coordinator, and Membership Representative. In 2016, they became a Campaign Associate for Shot@Life at the United Nations Foundation. In 2017, they were the Membership Director for the International Erosion Control Association (Region One). In 2018, they were a Trauma-Informed Practices Manager at Denver Public Schools through an Education Pioneers Impact Fellowship. Finally, in 2019, they became the Trauma-Informed and Restorative Practices Manager for Denver Public Schools. Most recently, in 2021, they were hired as a Project Manager for The Tactile Group.
Shannon Wellens obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Virginia Tech in 2012, majoring in International/Global Studies. Shannon then went on to pursue a Masters in Public Administration from George Mason University, graduating in 2017.
