Jim Traweek has had a long and successful career in the public sector. Jim began their career in 1985 as a Foreign Service Management Officer for the US Dept of State. In 2003, they joined USAID as a Personal Services Contractor/Institutional Contractor in Iraq. During their time there, they prepared a reorganization package for a $1.2 billion program, drafted executive summaries, job descriptions and organizational charts, and recruited development experts to work on provincial reconstruction teams. In 2008, they joined Tai Pedro & Associates as a Program Manager and Business Developer. During their 51 months at TPA, they led a team that facilitated the hiring of over 850 FSOs, verified qualifications, created itineraries, processed 1726 claims for reimbursement, provided candidate career counseling, checked work-history references, managed records, tabulated score sheets for candidate selection, and facilitated numerous AID events. Their team communicated with nearly 3700 applicants for AID FS positions, and over 2550 candidates were assessed at the Washington testing facility that they ran.
Jim Traweek attended St. Mary's U. School of Law from 1977 to 1979, where they earned a J.D. in Texas and US laws and legal procedures. Jim also attended SUNY, New Paltz, NY and earned a BA in Theirtory cum laude.
