Co-Founder at Tailwind

Alex Topiler is the Co-Founder of Tailwind, a startup based in New York City. Prior to founding Tailwind, Alex was the Co-Organizer of Startup Weekend NYC from August 2011 to August 2013. In this role, Alex worked with other organizers to plan logistics, procure sponsors, recruit mentors and judges, and facilitate Startup Weekend events.

Before their work with Startup Weekend, Alex was a Co-founder of BridesView from January 2011 to April 2012. BridesView is a smart visual search experience to help brides find their perfect wedding vendors.

Prior to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Alex worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from June 2006 to February 2012 as an Associate in Merrill Lynch Commodities. In this role, they were responsible for underwriting and negotiation of ISDA, NAESB, and other contract types with corporate clients for prospective Commodities transactions in various sectors including Energy & Power, Oil & Gas and Precious Metals.

Alex Topiler studied operations research and industrial engineering at Cornell University, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Alex then went on to earn a certification from the CFA Institute as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
