David Matthew Millar

Director, Product at Take Command

David Matthew Millar is the Director of Product at Take Command. David has over two years of experience in product management, having previously served as the Senior Product Manager at QCon Conferences.

At QCon, David was responsible for reorganized C4Media's flagship QCon events from in-person to virtual. David also designed new editorial session formats to ensure high levels of engagement for senior audience members. In addition, David assisted 150 speakers in delivering effective and engaging technical presentations at each conference by delivering training seminars.

Under David's leadership, the Diversity & Inclusion Program was expanded to increase funding by 300% to underrepresented groups in technology and contribute 100% of InfoQ Live ticket sales to DE&I charities. David also developed program criteria and ongoing funding sources.

David is a strategic thinker who is able to see the big picture and develop actionable plans to achieve objectives. David is a strong collaborator who is able to work cross-functionally with lead developers, designers and operations leads to drive product development.

David Matthew Millar's educational career began at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California. David then went on to study history at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors. Millar continued their studies at the University of St Andrews, where they earned a Masters in International Security Studies. In addition to their academic achievements, Millar also holds a certification from Harvard Business School in Negotiation Mastery.
