Cathal Gallagher

Cathal Gallagher is a seasoned professional in the pharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as a Guest Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) since January 2023, Cathal has held various senior positions at Takeda since January 2019, including Senior Director-Head of Quality for External Operations EU and Director of External Supply Quality Operations, leading quality oversight for multiple Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). Prior roles include significant positions at Shire, Mylan, Ethicon, and LEO Pharma, where Cathal focused on quality certification and regulatory compliance for various pharmaceutical products. Cathal's career commenced at the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) and includes a comprehensive educational background with a Professional Diploma in Pharmaceutical Business Management from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Trinity College Dublin.
