Christopher Matechik

Christopher Matechik is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as a Remote Sensing Analyst at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy since October 2022. Additionally, Christopher has been a Research Assistant at Florida State University since June 2019, focusing on restoring eastern oysters in Apalachicola Bay. Previous positions include work with NASA's DEVELOP Program, conducting feasibility studies on ecological changes affecting Atlantic salmon, and serving as an Environmental Specialist at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, managing land for the Apalachicola Watershed. Christopher also has experience in marine research, taxa surveys, and fisheries monitoring, holding a Master's degree in Fishing and Fisheries Sciences and Management from Auburn University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Florida State University.
