Elizabeth Roman has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Elizabeth started their career as a Flight Attendant at American Airlines in 1999, where they were responsible for the safety and comfort of passengers. Elizabeth then worked at Ibero American Action League, Inc from 2002 to 2005, where they were part of the Extended Day Program and focused on child development. Elizabeth continued at Ibero American Action League, Inc as a Case Manager for New Hispanic Arrivals from 2005 to 2007, providing support and referrals for medical and mental health needs. Elizabeth then held the position of Emergency Training and Support Services Director at Ibero American Action League from 2007 to 2011, where they supervised employees, facilitated educational projects, and ensured quality control. In 2013, Elizabeth became an Executive Assistant at McKinsey & Company, before joining the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA in 2015 as the Mobile Food Market Director.
Elizabeth Roman earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Liberty University, where they studied from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended Monroe Community College from 2001 to 2007 and obtained an Associate's Degree. In addition to their formal education, Elizabeth has also pursued several certifications. Elizabeth obtained a Nonprofit Management Graduate Certificate from the University of Tampa in August 2022, a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021, a Culture Lenses Trainer Certification from the YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office) in December 2018, and a Y-USA Trainer Skills Certification from the YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office) in November 2018.
