Karrie Hayes

COO, K-12 at Tapestry Charter School

Dr. Karrie Hayes is Tapestry’s Chief Operating Officer. As Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Hayes oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational and data management systems and ensures that efficient practices in operational systems and facilities management result in maximum resources being directed to providing a world-class educational experience for students.

Dr. Hayes began her career as a high school teacher at Tapestry Charter High School, served as the school’s instructional coach, and most recently Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment before taking this new role. She has taught at both the middle school, high school and college levels, as she has taught many graduate courses at Niagara University, Canisius College and the University at Buffalo.

Dr. Hayes holds NYS certifications in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education, a Master of Science in Special Education, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education. Dr. Hayes received her BA, both of her MS degrees and her MBA degree from Niagara University. She earned her PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Hayes has been a member of the Tapestry family since 2008 in teaching roles, coaching roles and most recently in her current Director role.
