Tom Shelley

Head of Analytics Engineering at Tasman

Tom Shelley has a strong background in analytics engineering and data management. Tom is currently the Head of Analytics Engineering at Tasman, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to that, they were a Senior Analytics Engineer at Tasman from October 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining Tasman, Tom co-founded and served as the COO of PhD Pigeon Ltd, a company that connects businesses with the technical skills of PhD students. In this role, they developed strategies and technologies to ensure quality work for clients and a positive experience for consultants.

Tom also has experience at Dyson, where they held two roles. Tom was the Data & Analytics Technology Manager - Global Data Function from December 2019 to October 2021, leading the implementation of an analytics technology strategy and acting as a technical guide. Prior to that, they served as a Data Product Manager - Global Data Services from July 2018 to December 2019, designing and delivering data and analytics tools.

Earlier in their career, Tom worked at NI (National Instruments) in various roles. Tom was an Account Manager | Aerospace & Motorsport from March 2017 to July 2018, supporting customer success and growing key accounts. Before that, they were an Inside Sales Engineer from June 2016 to February 2017, generating business and advising customers. Tom started at NI as an Applications Engineer from July 2015 to June 2016, where they collaborated with customers to find technical solutions and provided mentoring support.

Tom Shelley has completed a Masters and Bachelors of Engineering (MEng) in Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Leeds. Tom has also obtained a certification as a dbt Certified Developer from dbt Labs in September 2022.
