Sarah Laporta is a process optimization specialist at Tastet. Sarah was previously a business consultant at Marché des Éclusiers, and before that, they were the director of operations at McKiernan Luncheonette.

Sarah has always been interested in efficiency and productivity. When they were working as a business consultant, they helped their clients identify opportunities to improve their businesses. Sarah also advised them on how to develop an event division and on the resources they would need to support the extension.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit and restaurants started closing, Sarah decided to help their fellow restaurant workers by creating the Montreal Restaurant Workers Relief Fund. As the process owner of the Fund, Sarah was responsible for distributing funds to restaurant workers in need. Sarah implemented a system using Trello to manage operations and maximize productivity. Sarah also automated repetitive tasks to solve inefficiencies and enhance volunteers' satisfaction. Thanks to their hard work, the Fund was able to collect and distribute $200,000 to more than 1000 employees in need in less than 6 months.
