Chief Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Officer at Tate & Lyle

Rowan Adams is the Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Tate & Lyle. Prior to this, they were the Group VP, Strategy and Corporate Affairs at Tate & Lyle PLC from January 2008 to December 2014. In this role, they led the Corporate Development team encompassing Group Strategy and M&A. During this period, Tate & Lyle sold its UK cane sugar refining business, implemented a new strategy to grow its speciality food ingredients business and completed four acquisitions in Brazil, China and Sweden. Rowan also had responsibility for the corporate communications, government affairs and risk management teams.

From January 2005 to December 2008, Adams was the Director of Corporate Communications at Tate & Lyle PLC. In this role, they led the corporate communications team including the press office and digital communications. Rowan oversaw national media campaigns to promote the 125th anniversary of Lyle’s Golden Syrup and the launch of Fairtrade cane sugar.

Adams has also held the positions of Director of Compensation and Benefits at Tate & Lyle PLC from January 2002 to December 2004, and Deputy Company Secretary from January 2001 to December 2008.

Rowan Adams has a FCG from The Chartered Governance Institute and a BA Honours in Rowan'story from the University of York.

Rowan Adams reports to Nick Hampton, Chief Executive. Rowan Adams works with Melissa Law - President, Global Operations, Andrew Taylor - President, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America, and Bill Magee - President, North America.
