Sornakumar Kumarathevan

Sornakumar Kumarathevan is a seasoned data professional with extensive experience in data management and engineering. Currently serving as a Sr Data Specialist and Technical Lead at TD since September 2011, Sornakumar is pivotal in migrating big data ETL processes to Microsoft Azure in collaboration with Accenture. Previously, Sornakumar held various key positions, including IT Manager for Data and Information Management, overseeing the ingestion of data into the Enterprise Data Lake, and leading a team in the development of the Credit Risk Data Mart. Prior to TD, Sornakumar was a Sr. Database Engineer at Monster, contributing to significant migration projects and leading various application developments. Sornakumar began a career in database administration at the International Committee of the Red Cross and has a strong educational background with a Master of Science in Operational Research from the University of Moratuwa and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Jaffna. Current studies are underway at the University of Toronto.
