As an experienced Executive Assistant, you would be required to think quickly on your feet and have a proactive approach to your role. You will bring high levels of initiative, whilst being flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.  

Being able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people is an integral part of this role. Therefore, the ability to encourage, influence and drive positive behaviour is essential; Your confident interpersonal and strong communication skills will enable this for you.

You are a collaborator and relationship builder and can be counted on to achieve and maintain quality, with an eye for continuous improvement.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

These will include:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as an executive assistant.

  • Advanced level of computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite and preference to PowerPoint.

  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure to meet deadline when required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience and proficiency in reporting.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • A team player with an ability to build trusted and credible relationships across the organisation.

  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the special status of Māori as tāngata whenua would be an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Te Reo Māori/Pacific language would be advantageous.

Who are We  

Te Roopu Taurima is a Kaupapa Māori service that supports people of all ethnicities with intellectual impairments around Aotearoa/New Zealand. We provide residential and vocational support to clients, known as tangata, as well as out of family respite care, caregiver support, high and complex needs support, and choices in community living. We have offices in Northland, Auckland, Waikato and Christchurch.

Who we are looking for:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to support our National Service Operations Manager.

The National Manager's office is very fast paced environment with an entrepreneurial approach to the daily management of our business.    

You must be able to multitask in order to handle a multitude of tasks at all times with competing and conflicting levels of priority. The Executive assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication, organising the National Managers' schedule and handling administrative tasks and project management, which allows the manager to focus on their strategic and national leadership duties.

Your ability to handle confidential information, manage calendars and facilitate communication where needed will be essential in driving efficiency and productivity. With no two days the same, you will provide a range of organisational and administrative support, from diary management, travel bookings, meeting coordination and report collation, to liaison with internal & external stakeholders.  The role is based in Hamilton and allows allocated days to work from home. Some regional travel is required from time to time.
