Anurag Bera is currently working as a Scientist-B (Agronomy) at the North Bengal Regional Research and Development Centre. Prior to this, Anurag was a doctoral student at Banaras Hindu University. Anurag holds a PhD in Agronomy and Crop Science from Banaras Hindu University, along with a M.Sc in Agriculture from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya. Anurag also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya.

Tea Research Association (TRA Tocklai)

Tea Research Association popularly known as TRA Tocklai is the oldest & largest tea R&D organisation globally being set up in 1911. TRA Tocklai is largely instrumental in making tea industry commercially viable in India with a contribution of over 200 tea cultivars, seed stocks, agronomic practices, tea manufacturing practices with the invention of CTC and rotorvane. TRA Tocklai contribution has benefited overseas tea producing countries such as East Africa and Sri Lanka. TRA Tocklai is a industry led organisation being funded by the industry and Government of India. It is responsible for 75% of Indian tea production and is present in 9 states of India. TRA Tocklai has the most dedicated team of scientific research personnel which is ably supported by its administrative team. It has its research headquarters at Tocklai Tea Research Institute and registered office at Kolkata. It is managed by the Council of Management whose members are elected every three years from the industry and is also represented by nominees from Government of India.
