Sonya Tareke is a social entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Team Real Talk, Inc. Sonya has dedicated their career to improving access to healthcare and removing barriers created by social determinants of health in underserved communities.
Sonya began their career as a Brand Ambassador for the Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network (GBUAHN) Health Home. In this role, they were responsible for conducting outreach in underserved communities and providing education on the importance of access to healthcare.
Sonya then transitioned to a role as a Social Impact Fellow with Future Founders, where they worked to support early-stage entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities.
Most recently, Sonya served as a Research Support Specialist with the State University of New York at Buffalo - School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In this role, they developed instructional guide materials for CMS website management, coordinated committee meetings to facilitate progress on strategic student engagement initiatives, and conducted PubMed searches to accumulate relevant program materials.
Sonya is passionate about supporting their community and has dedicated their career to improving access to healthcare for all.
Sonya Tareke has a Master of Business Administration from the University at Buffalo School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the same school. Sonya also has an Advanced Regents Diploma from Nellie A. Thornton High School. In addition, they have a certification from Coursera in COVID-19 Contact Tracing.
