VP Eng, Chief Architect at TeamSnap

Lee Tacon has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. They currently hold the position of VP Eng, Chief Architect at TeamSnap, starting in December 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Principal Architect at TeamSnap from March 2023 to December 2023. From June 2021 to April 2023, Lee was the Senior Director Of Engineering at TeamSnap.

Before joining TeamSnap, Lee served as a Mentor at Plato, starting in May 2021. At Plato, they mentored other engineering leaders, providing compassionate and performance-based leadership.

From October 2020 to June 2021, Lee was the Director Of Engineering at Mixmax. During their time at Mixmax, they also held the role of Engineering Manager from February 2019 to September 2020. Additionally, they served as the Head of Platform Engineering from August 2018 to September 2020. They were one of the initial hires at Mixmax and started as a Software Engineer in March 2016, contributing to the product's sustained customer growth by implementing new features and developing the analytics framework.

Prior to Mixmax, Lee worked as a Software Engineer at Barracuda from April 2015 to March 2016, focusing on upgrading the performance of the Barracuda Appliance Control cluster. They also implemented custom Erlang cluster impersonation logic in Go for smooth integration.

Before Barracuda, Lee worked as a Software Engineer at RightBrain Networks from June 2014 to March 2015. Their responsibilities included working on customer projects in various languages and scaling systems under tight deadlines.

Lee also has experience as a Software Engineer at Yext from June 2013 to May 2014.

Outside of the engineering field, Lee has worked as a Head Teaching Assistant and Course Assistant at Johns Hopkins University from August 2012 to May 2013 and from September 2010 to July 2012, respectively.

Furthermore, Lee worked as a Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins Medicine from June 2010 to May 2013, where they contributed to the identification of genes involved in neuromuscular diseases and adapted an image processing program to study mitochondrial transport.

Lee Tacon completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University between 2008 and 2012. Later, Lee enrolled in The Johns Hopkins University again from 2012 to 2013 to pursue a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Computer Science.
