Mercedes MalaxEtxebarria has a wide range of work experience, beginning with an internship at EY in 2014. Mercedes then worked as a UK Case Co-ordinator for Best Doctors EMEAA in 2014 and as a Customer Service Representative for Scotiabank in 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Financial Services Representative for TD, followed by a role as a Field Surveyor for Thomson Ecology Ltd in 2017. In 2018, Mercedes worked as an Administrator for RINA and The Windsor Forest Colleges Group. Mercedes then worked as a Data Analyst for Sage Housing in 2019 and is currently working as a Business Analyst for Technology Brewing (Techbrew Robotics).

Mercedes MalaxEtxebarria completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Ecology from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) between 2010 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma of Laboratory Technician in Environmental Science from Metropolitan Institute of TAFE between 2008 and 2009.
