Duo Liu

Duo Liu serves as a Universitätsprofessor at Technische Universität Dresden since April 2024, leading the chair of railway track engineering and acting as the managing director of the institute for railway systems and public transport. Research interests include track measurement technology, numerical simulation of track components, digital twin models for railway systems, and innovative applications of BIM, AI, and big data in predictive maintenance, as well as the study of railway noise and vibrations. Previous roles include Senior Solution Engineer at KONUX, where engineering solutions were integrated into programming languages, and Development Engineer at VOSSLOH, where responsibilities included founding the simulation department and leading several research and development projects. Duo Liu began an academic career as a scientific employee at Technische Universität München, conducting lectures and managing research projects in transportation engineering while earning a Dr.-Ing. in civil engineering with a focus on transport infrastructure and a Master of Science in transportation systems.
