Alessio Contu

Alessio Contu is an experienced Facilities Manager at Technogym since August 2021, previously holding the role of Building Automation, Plant & Maintenance Manager. Prior to this, Alessio worked as a Project Manager at Edf Europe S.r.l. and DZ Engineering srl from March 2020 to August 2021 and April 2016 to February 2020, respectively. Alessio also served as a PhD Student at the Georgia Institute of Technology from March 2015 to March 2016, focusing on pavement design and inverted pavements techniques. Earlier professional experience includes a role as a Product Genius with BMW Group in 2013 and a visiting student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012, where laboratory testing on dolerite was conducted. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Pavement Engineering from Università degli Studi di Cagliari and a Doctor of Philosophy from Georgia Institute of Technology, along with a civil structural engineering degree from Università degli Studi di Cagliari.
