Simon Scholler

Senior Project Manager at Technologiestiftung Berlin

Simon Scholler has over 14 years of experience in the tech industry. In 2007, they began their career as a Research Assistant at the Intelligent Data Analysis Group of the Fraunhofer Institute FIRST in Berlin. Here, they worked on data analysis and machine learning projects involving high-frequency multivariate time series, conducted neuroscientific experiments and developed software for the internal toolbox. In 2011, they joined the Machine Learning Group at the Berlin Institute of Technology as a Research Associate. Here, they designed and conducted an electroencephalography (EEG) experiment, supervised an EEG experiment of a PhD student and published two scientific articles. In 2012, they moved to Ocado as an Inhouse Solutions Manager, where they optimised the overall layout of the products in Ocado's warehouse, programmed server web-applications for in-house use and conducted customer insight analyses. In 2013, they joined Zalando as a Data Scientist, where they prototyped and productionised a return forecast model, productionised the Zalando payment risk minimisation system and developed a new marketing attribution system. In 2015, they became the Chief Product Officer at Newsenselab GmbH, where they managed the mobile development team and QA team, set up BI and product tooling and designed and set up the data analytics pipeline. Most recently, in 2023, they joined Technologiestiftung Berlin as a Senior Technical Project Manager.

Simon Scholler has an education history that includes a BSc in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrück from 2004-2007, an MSc in Computational Neuroscience from the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience from 2007-2011, and a Design Thinking course from the Hasso Plattner Institute from 2010-2011. Simon also attended the University of Auckland in 2006. In addition, Scholler has obtained several certifications, including Building Creative Organizations, IT Security Foundations: Core Concepts, Project Management Foundations, Symmetric Cryptography Essential Training, Digital Transformation Foundations, Leading with Innovation, Open Data: Unleashing Hidden Value, and Design Computing: 3D Modeling in Rhinoceros with Python/Rhinoscript from LinkedIn and Coursera in 2022.
