With over 30 years in the profession, Sue is driven to make a difference for cancer patients and their families, which can only happen through education and lifelong learning.
Sue is the Vice President of Education and Training at Varian, A Siemens Healthineers Company. In this role, Sue is responsible for setting education strategy, enabling educational access to the global cancer industry, developing partnerships with academic institutions, supporting new / advanced technology product adoption while ensuring all internal and external customers have an exceptional learning experience.
Sue and her team developed a comprehensive 24/7 asynchronous learning platform with multi-lingual courses combining simulations, instructor-directed learning, knowledge assessments, and virtual software labs to ensure a learning comprehension. This platform, VarianThink, was awarded finalist status in the 2021 Innovation in Education Services Star Awards.
Before, Varian Sue led a large Canadian Cancer Center Program where patient care, innovation, and education were foundational pillars and where she got first-hand experience of caring for patients with cancer, thereby driving her career-long passion for creating a world without fear of cancer.
