Lisa McCann

Lisa McCann has served as our Chief People Officer since December 2020. Prior to joining Teknova, Lisa served as Chief People Officer at Calysta, Inc., an alternative protein startup, from April 2020 to November 2020. Lisa has also served in a variety of human resources roles for Becton Dickinson & Co ("BD"), a global medical technology company, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources from July 2018 to April 2020. She was Worldwide Senior Human Resources Director for BD Biosciences from February 2017 to July 2018 and for Preanalytical Systems from June 2016 to February 2017, and served as European Human Resources Business Partner from November 2014 to June 2016.

In 2009, Lisa joined BD as Human Resources Business Partner and remained with the company for over 10 years. At BD Biosciences, Lisa was responsible for setting and delivering the people strategy for a 3,500-employee global business unit encompassing all business functions, including research and development, manufacturing, and sales and marketing. Among her various responsibilities at BD Biosciences, she drove significant cultural change, managed the due diligence and subsequent integration of several acquired companies, and supported the implementation of a global workforce management platform. Before BD, Lisa held roles at Barclays, supporting its Corporate Functions from February 2006 to June 2009, and Unilever, a consumer goods company, as a recruitment specialist from 2005 to 2006.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and post-graduate diplomas in Personnel and Development from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Forensic Psychology from the University of Coventry.
