Christa Hawthorne

Christa Hawthorne has a rich and diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Their most recent role was as the Senior Director of Sales for Plastic Surgery in the Eastern Region at TELA Bio. In this position, they managed a sales team and developed relationships with key opinion leaders in order to create sales opportunities for new technologies.

Before that, Christa held various roles at AirXpanders, Inc. including Area Sales Manager and Clinical Support Specialist. Christa provided training and support for AirXpander products, trained physicians on their proper use, and assisted with sales support.

Prior to AirXpanders, Christa worked at DySIS Medical Ltd. as a Senior Clinical Education Manager and Field Trainer. Christa educated physicians and their staff on the use and integration of the DYSIS colposcope, installed and maintained software, and ensured adherence to study guidelines.

Earlier in their career, Christa worked as a First Assistant/CST in Bariatrics, GYN, and Ortho at Northstar Healthcare, Inc. Christa also held roles as a CST/Urology Coordinator at Memorial Hermann Health System, CST/Plastics/Craniofacial Coordinator at Forest Park Medical Center, and CST/Ophthalmology Coordinator at Park Central Surgical/HCA.

Christa began their career as a CST/Ophthalmology Coordinator at UTSW Zale Lipshy, where they ordered supplies, maintained instrumentation, and assisted doctors in surgery.

Throughout their career, Christa has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in surgical support, clinical education, and sales management in the healthcare field.

Christa Hawthorne obtained their certification as a Surgical Assistant from Ace Surgical Assisting in 2014. In 2000, they received a degree in Surgical Technology from Franklin Technology-MSSU. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Surgical Technician from NCCT, obtained in 2013, and is also certified in CPR/BLS from the American Heart Association, obtained in 2001.
